Competitions

We run various annual writing competitions, including the Marj Wilke Short Story Award, the Mocco Wollert Poetry Award and an Article competition. These competitions provide an excellent opportunity to showcase your talents. Part of this process is working with other members of our Work-in-Progress groups to receive feedback and support with your story writing.

Marj Wilke Short Story Award

The Marj Wilke Short Story Award is a prestigious accolade in Australia, celebrating the art of storytelling and honouring both seasoned and emerging writers. Named after the beloved literary figure Marj Wilke, the award recognises outstanding short fiction that captivates readers with creativity and depth. This competition is open to Australian Women Writers over the age of 18 years. The award honours one of our founding members, Marjorie Wilke.

the Mocco Wollert Poetry Award

The Mocco Wollert Poetry Award is a prestigious accolade in the Australian literary scene, dedicated to celebrating exceptional poetic talent. Named after the esteemed poet Mocco Wollert. The award highlights the vibrant, diverse voices within Australia's poetry community and continues to inspire a love for the written word across the nation.
