The Mocco Wollert Poetry Award
THE MOCCO WOLLERT IN-HOUSE POETRY AWARD 2026
Rules
- This competition is open to all members of the Society of Women Writers Qld Inc.
- Entry is $10 per entry or $25 for three entries. Maximum 3 entries. Entry fees are not refundable.
- All entries must be accompanied by an official entry form
- Do not attach the entry form to your work.
- All entries must be the original work of the author, not published in part or whole (extracts from publicly available works including blogs are not eligible), not on offer for publication before the announcement of the competition and not have won a cash prize in any other competition.
- The use of AI-assisted technologies is permissible for checking spelling and grammar and concept development. However, the final submission must be the original work of the author.
- We accept entries in hard copy or via email. Addresses below.
- Poems must be Single-space your poems using size 12 Times New Roman or similar font, on one side of A4 paper f
- The name of the writer must not appear on the entry however the title of the poem must appear in the header.
- Entries will be responsibly destroyed or deleted. Entrants should keep a copy of their work. Copyright remains with the author.
- Entries must be postmarked no later than the due date, or emailed by close of business on the due date. Late entries will not be considered.
- The judge’s decision is final. Winners will be announced, and prizes presented at our monthly meeting on June 9, 2026. Winners will also be announced in our newsletter. Winners not able to attend the June meeting will be notified.

- Direct Deposit to Bendigo Bank, BSB 633-000, Account No: 164387243. Please add your name to the reference line.
- Pay in person at the April 14 meeting.
We accept submissions by:
- Email (preferred) – competitions@womenwritersqld.org.au poem/s and entry form as a Word Doc.
- Hard Copy – Post to the Convenor, WWQ Poetry Comp, PO Box 6 Kin Kin Qld 4571. Entries must be postmarked no later than 14 April to allow time to get them to the judge.
